Blazers try to capitalize on Ducks’ dominance

by Micah Hart

It’s no secret that teams are always on the lookout for ways to leverage community events to sell tickets. Whether that’s partnering with local businesses or taking advantage of fads, if it will move product, teams will try it.

One angle that I’ve seen teams start to do more and more lately is to try to feed off the enthusiasm for the local college teams. In today’s case it’s the Portland Trail Blazers, looking to capitalize on the success of the Oregon Ducks football program, currently ranked #1 in both the AP poll and BCS Standings. Look, it’s former Oregon QB Joey Harrington!

Fairly standard commercial fare here. I’m not quite sure Armon Johnson‘s connection to Oregon — he was born and raised in Reno, and went to school at Nevada — but I’ll assume it’s either because he wears #1 (possible) or because he’s a rookie and low-man on the totem pole usually gets handed these tasks (probable).

Still, I link to the previous video only to then link to the outtakes below. I don’t care what it says about my comic sensibilities, I love outtakes. Roll it!

Every serious movie I see (think The Hurt Locker or Inception), as we are walking out, I will never fail to remark to whoever is with me, “Think there’ll be outtakes?”, because I am hilarious.
