What should he do, MJ?

by Micah Hart

LeBron’s new Nike commercial takes a little jab at a few different players, most notably Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan. Ever wonder how MJ might respond to LBJ’s ad? Roll it!

Job well done, YouTube user MoneyChaserTV. We’ve now seen responses from Cleveland and His Airness. Someone want to see what Chuck would have to say?

You are so incompetent, because it’s a fan made commercial, and the original Jordan commercial is 2 years old used in this video!!!

  2. Warren Thomas says:

This is what Lebron should do…………I say recruit Marc Gasol he is a up and coming center in the Nba with the right training he could be better then his brother Pau Gasol and it would not hurt to try and pick up Steve Nash to balance out the Miami Heat I could be wrong but Miami is lacking a dominant center and a dominant point gaurd.

    • Heat says:

      i totally agree

      • APDsilk says:

Why dont they get kobe and kevin durant while they are at it. You guys realize the Heat have no money left, how would they be able to get Nash and Gasol. good wishful thinking though guys.
PS: even with Nash and Gasol the Heat still wouldnt reach the finals.

    • Charee says:

U sound like you’ve REALLY thought this out lol!! But u make perfect sense though.

  3. crewskidd says:

True @Mikels66, its a fan created commercial and its two years old…………BUT ITS STILL REVELANT, in my opinion. Alot of fans will be able to see and understand why this commercial was made, and will agree with it, while others will not. Regardless to how old something is, it does not negate the fact that it still can be used, compared, or related too newer concepts, ideas, or commercials! But I do respect your comment.

  4. RUBEN says:

    LOVE IT

  5. THE LIGHT says:

the Michael Jordan commercial is about TWO YEARS OLD so i think its very interesting that people are making out to be Michael Jordan’s response tp Lebron. THIS IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and RIDICULOUS.

People change jobs ALL THE TIME but now everybody seems to think its ok to say malicious and hateful things about Lebron James SIMPLY because he chouse another employer haha GET A LIFE.

Lets be honest here, MOST OF YOU ARE MAD AT LEBRON NOT BECAUSE HE CHANGED TEAMS, people just dont want to see a VERY WLL LIKED and YOUNG MILLIONAIRE GETTING CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS. They all liked him when he kept losing and losing year after year, this is known as MISERY LOVING COMPANY.

We should be happy that the man, the little man chouse his own path and is encharge of his own successes or failures.
Lebron actually represents those who wish they could change jobs because of unfair bosses, or the woman who are forced to get married bcause its part of their culture, Nba teams fire people without notifying them quite often and it has been done for over 30 years and now you want to hate the “little men” for going against that injustice??? THAT IS SO SAD.

    • JayKowle says:

      unprofessional? dude, it’s youtube.

    • Dan O says:

      OK, Gloria James

    • Brian says:

ppl in cleveland hate lbj because he is probably the best player in the league. but cmon there is trade anywhere in the league throughout the year those ppl hate lbj just because he chose another employee… this is his life his career he has got the right to make decision for himself you can NOT like it but its been a month let it go grow up fans…

    • APDsilk says:

Well it doesnt seem like Lebron is getting his ring in miami either, at least not if things dont change. Its pretty clear he had a better chance at it in cleaveland, so the statement you made “MOST OF YOU ARE MAD AT LEBRON NOT BECAUSE HE CHANGED TEAMS, people just dont want to see a VERY WLL LIKED and YOUNG MILLIONAIRE GETTING CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS” is no good. Also the majority of people are mad (although its more dissapointment) because a 25 year old “SUPERSTAR” (The Next Jordan) decided to leave his team and hop on Wade’s team, and in a way he followed Chris Bosh too. James was expected to be an out of this world talent, which he is, but he was also expected to be a leader, a warrior, a true competitor. He was expected to lead a team into glory by winning at least one championship, and its clear he is not doing any of those things, he took the easy way out at such a young age. This is why fans are “mad.”

  6. disappointedHeatFan says:

Even though this video is old, It says it all, the problem with the heat is that they thought it was gonna be a cake walk. They look like a team who thinks by mid season, everything will turn around.. they problem with that is that you cant fix something that isnt broken… and as long as they are in denial that something is wrong, they will never fix it… its really sad to see

  7. BIGTAWLY says:

WAS’NT THIS YOUNG MAN (25 YEARS), BEEN IN THE LEAGUE 7 YEARS ON THE SAME TEAM ! BORN IN HIS STATE OF OHIO, LIVED ALL HIS YEARS IN OHIO, ARKON MIND YOU. PUT OHIO ON THE MAP, PUT CLEVLAND BACK ON THE MAP! ONLY LEFT THE STATE TO PLAY BASKETBALL IN OTHER STATES, NEVER HAS LIVED ANYWHERE ELSE, HAS ALWAYS BEEN PROFESSIONAL – EVEN AS A 18 YEAR OLD COMMING TO THE LEAGUE, GETTING SCREWED OVER BY STERN AND THE “LOTTERY BALLS” TO STILL PLAY IN CLEVLAND (CONSPIRICY THREORY OF MINE!!!), ADDED AN NEW WAY OF “PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE” OF THIS AGE OF WANNABEES AND EARLY ENTRY APPLICANTS, TOOK CARE OF HIS BOYS PROPERLY, AND IS A FREE AGENT!!1 ISNT HE A “FREE AGENT” !!!?????? 25 YEARS OLD – WHO WOULDN’T LIKE TO BE IN THE POSITION TO GO ON A BUNCH OF TRIPS TO OTHER FRANCHISES AND HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY, WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO GO TO MIAMI AND PLAY(HOT GIRLS, WEATHER, LIFESTYLE) AT 25!!!!!!!! IMAGINE WHERE YOU WERE AT 25 !!!?????? GET OVER IT ! AND PLEASE LET THIS MAN BREATHE AND TRY TO BE A BETTER BASKETBALL PLAYER (IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT HE CAN BE WAY BETTER, MECHANICS, FOOTWORK, ETC)!!!!
LET HIM LIVE!!! GOOD ON YOU ‘BRON!!! NO , NO FRANCHISE SHOULD TRY TO “SLAVE” OUT A PLAYER WHICH HAPPENS ALL THE TIME – FOR THIS ERA, PLAYERS ARE GETTING SMARTER, READING CONTRACTS – UNDERSTANDING CONTRACTS, AND DOING THE BEST OPTION FOR THEM. IF YOU ARE A FAN AND YOU ARE A PLAYER – YOU WOULD FULLY UNDERSTAND THIS !!!
    BITE DOWN ON THAT DUMMIES!!!!

    • Mark says:

      Nice job.

    • waylon says:

People are’t mad beacause he left Cleveland he made that city and team relevent again. They are mad at how he left from oing on 60 minutes and saying the Cavs were the front runners to all of a sudden jumpig ship to play in Miami and blasting Cleveland in the process by embarrasing them on national T.V. No one was trying to slave out lebron as u put it so nicely the city and team was hurt because of his actions. He promised the city a championship and never delivered when it matter’d most.Say what you want to about the team that he had no sidekick or what not the fact was they had the best record in the NBA two years in a row so it couldnt have been that bad of a team. They swept the Lakers last year in the regular season. This comercial is exactly what MJ shoulda said to lebrons own comercial because its true if you ever took a look at those Bulls teams that won it was MJ and Scottie and role players not all stars at every postion. Yes Lebron has a right to test the market and even leave it its what is best but do it in a classy manner not by setting up a whole television set up and walking out because you felt like you couldnt get a title in Cleveland. Cleveland could hav paired some one else with him this year too they had the cap to bring in another all star but lebron barely tried to bring anyone to them to sell what was a very good team to another superstar to come play in Cleveland. know he’s only 25 and Miami has more to offer than Cleveland as far as weather and lifestyle but your talking about an athlete with kids and a girlfriend so it doesn’t make sense as far as that oes plus these guys are on the road constantly its not like they have much tme to check out all of that during the season so while I agree with him being able to do what he wants he could have went about it better or you know delivered what he promised to a city who crowned him King James.

      • bendad says:

Well said!!! And this slave to the owner thing, didn’t me make around 14 to 16 million playing for this slavedriver. I wonder how many people would love to be doing the thing they love to do and make that much money!!!!

  8. c says:

    that commercial was great!!!

  9. Of course it’s wasn’t originally made as a response to Lebron, but his words fit like a glove, don’t they?
    setevintecinco.blogspot.com

    • JayKowle says:

      They do.!
And people are getting mad and defending Lebron like he didn’t waltz into MIA thinking it was be apple pie.
But, 2 years ago, this could have just as easily fit to any Bryant commercial or Carmelo or even Wade.

  10. clasher says:

of course it’s a fan made video, but that doesn’t mean its not true to some degree. kinda prophetic really, MJ worked on his game during summers off (when he wasn’t playing golf) developed a post game and built his body to take more punishment to win. Lebron is basically the same player he was seven years ago. Unless he develops a post game the heat won’t win anything.

  11. cody says:

Wow this is awesome. MJ said this way before the Lebron commercial but it fits sooo good.

  12. GMedina says:

well said by the greatest. LBJ listen up.

  13. Ira Penrod says:

Let’s see, the actually Lebron commercial was that not a jab to the city of Cleveland? People are missing the point, the fans are over it! They can care less if Lebron is winning or losing! But when he comes out and puts on a commercial and bashes Cleveland we aren’t suppose to respond. If he wanted to leave ok! But the fans that cheered for him for 7 years didn’t deserve the chance to pick someone up when he new he was leaving? That just shows the he’s a selfish media attention whore!

  14. Jonathan G. says:

I mean, what are people talking about?!?! “Recruit Marc Gasol”, oh “Recruit Steve Nash”, for goodness sakes people GET OVER IT. Miami, even tho we are shy of 20 games into the season, is a failed experiment. Why? Because for that experiment to succeed, Dwayne Wade and LeBron James have to let go of their egos, let go of the ball and become role players that “go with the flow”. The tempo will not be set by one superstar, but by a team, and that, when you are as competitive as Wade and James, is impossible. Their natures individually doesn’t allow them to, much lesser at such a young age. Jordan had to learn it the hard way, so has Kobe and to some extent, so did Shaq. So, the way I see it is, the Heat will win a championship with the team they have assembled now (or adding more superstar caliber names) if either Kobe’s knees give in anytime soon (lets say 1 or 2 seasons into the future), or the Lakers lose some chemistry somehow (free agency or new additions over the years, loss of Phil Jackson) and at the same time this happens, Pat Riley takes over coaching.

If let’s say Pat Riley coaches next season, or this one for that matter, but everything else remains (the Lakers team, Kobe’s health, the overall level of chemistry and talent in the Western Conference), the outcome will be the same: Lakers win the NBA finals.

  15. Don sosaay says:

    AWESOME

  16. Eddie says:

Personally, I do not like Lebron, but I have nothing against him. I like the commercial because it gives sense to what MJ had brought to the table in the basketball world. You can edit the video and replace Lebron with any other young superstar of today, and the essence of this video would not have changed. Simply put, (with objections welcome) MJ still stands as the barometer of what a great basketball player should be..

  17. lockdown says:

miami heat = incomplete puzzle = no championship………………regarding steve nash, go back to dallas team up with dirk again, maybe cuban can get rid of kidd, butler, stevenson, barea, other guys………..get MELO!…………Dirk + Nash + Melo + veterans w/ playoff experience….terry, chandler, marion, haywood & the frenchman!

  18. Patrick says:

First of all, there are way too many grammar mistakes on this page. I doubt there is a high school degree between any of you. Secondly, Lebron quitting on his home team both on and off the court is not the reason that most people really lost respect for the man. Throwing his team under the bus and making his “decision” to take a dump on his home town a television special was completely ridiculous.

  19. RUBEN says:

@Márcio Martins BUT IT FITS LECRYBABY PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  20. Danny says:

Stars leave all the time but the way he left was pretty bad. That’s why so many people are “hating.” He didn’t just leave, he waited till real late into free agency and then told his team via hour special lol. Then he could of made it all better because people loved him, by simply apologizing. He could have said, “I needed to leave for my career but I didn’t do it in the right way, I made mistakes, and I’m sorry for hurting my fans.” Instead he said people were mad because he was a black man and then he made a stupid “feel sorry for lebron” commercial.

He can’t acknowledge that he might have made a mistake, because his ego has been stoked into a roaring blaze since he was a kid. I remember how we would talk about him in high school, everyone already knew who he was, and it messed him up. He used to make the Cav’s jet stay an extra day or two if he felt like partying or he would catch up on his own. Also he did stuff like quit on the court or bump his coach, just babyish crap. I hope he matures with the Heat, for his own sake and the good of basketball. Because he really is a special player.

    • Gary says:

What was he supposed to do? give everyone gift baskets on the way out and sign autographs at the same time? you leave, you leave. Everyone is taking it personally and acting like a bunch of (word deleted). He doesn’t owe anything to anyone but himself. He made himself a star and it’s his career to lead.

  21. chicago97 says:

anybody who doesnt listen 2 the message tht is being said about lebron, is not getting the point… i understand both sides but yu need 2 understand if thts yur city/state what wud yu do? he honestly quit nuff said…use 2 love bron, liked his drive n motivation, all of a sudden it just left..NOT GOOD!!! BRON WILL UNDERSTAND SOONER O LATER!! NOT A MIAMI FAN! BULLS ALL THE WAY!!

  22. michael mcbride says:

LEBRON IS A PHENOM, Stun on these characters and let them say what they want. Or show a little emotion like Kobe did when he went through the Colorado bs. what should lebron do? get on the podium show some emotion apologize to the ex fans. do it for yourself not them! Tell Nike to stay out of it. There will be new headlines next season.

Oh and Miami is not a fail attempt… yet atleast give them till March.

  23. LORDSLUG says:

THIS IS WHAT LEBRON SHOULD DO,, respect your coach men. don’t blame coach ERIK SPO!

  24. Gary says:

Nice try Micah Hart. Everyone in journalism has to try and make a martyr of someone and who can blame you for trying. Well aside from the pieceing of this being BS. What Lebron should really do is take his anger out on the court. I mean just go Blake Griffen on everyone!

  25. pchsmvp says:

    jordan commercials = the best!!

  26. G-Money says:

I agree about the ‘Decision’ and how it played out. What you fans really need to do is go back to May and the Celtics series. How the series changed from game 4 on. I would ask that you google Calvin Murphy on Lebron James. There’s some very interesting and damaging things said during an interview Calvin had with a local radio station. The Cleveland and mostly NBA fans who loved this man, now hate him. Not Right !!!! . If you watch the video you would have a better understanding of what really went down and why he really left. I don’t give Lebron a pass on his TV special, but after watching that video, I can understand why he left. Let’s face it, did he really have an NBA championship caliber supporting cast the last few years ? I hope after tonights game, that cleveland fans and even Lebron can heal. He gave his all for 7 years. One comment was about Miami getting Mark Gasol or Steve Nash. You know the Cavs had a shot of possibly getting Pau Gasol, Amare, Why didn’t they pull the trigger. That’s the question. Really need to see the whole picture. Was not just him !!!

  27. Big Steve says:

Lebron can do what he wants to do. This a new generation where its about the money and these players could care less about franchise loyalty I grew up on basketball in the 80s and 90s and have to realize its the new generations time. I may not love the game like I did growing up but its the youngsters time. They’ll do things entirely differently, and define themselves they way they want based on the spirit of this generation. So old school fans sit back and just watch Lebron and company for the entertainment value that it still has. Every generation is unique and differnet. it took me a long time to accept the fact that Lebron, Kobe and others are different from the legends of past,. Face the music and let the young boys be.
