Blake Griffin isn’t the only guy dunking over cars these days

by Micah Hart

You may remember Marques Johnson from his playing days at UCLA, or with three different NBA teams from 1977-1990. Or, if you are like me, you remember him as Raymond from White Men Can’t Jump. Either way, the man could play some ball back in the day, and still wants to prove he’s got what it takes on the court, even as he is well into middle-age.

To celebrate his 55th birthday, the former Clipper (1984-87) decided to try to match the exploits of a certain current Clipper who recently made headlines jumping over a car to win the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest.

Can he still do it? Roll it!

Pretty funny stuff, and definitely impressive that at age 55 Johnson can still cram, no matter the size of the car.

H/T Deadspin

Too bad Griffin didn’t really deserve to win. Only his first dunk was great and his Vince Carter dunk was pretty cool, but that’s about it. His dunk over the (hood of the) car was just okay. Derozan definitely deserved to be in the finals. McGee’s third dunk was pretty amazing, and Serge… seriously? Only 45 for a 7 footer jumping from behind the FT line? Where’s the love? If Blake did that, he probably would’ve gotten a 51 somehow.
