Heat fans turning to Voodoo

by Zettler Clay

It’s getting desperate in Miami. And this was before the Heat fell within a game of playoff extinction.

Heat fans are gobbling up voodoo dolls by the hundreds in hopes from thwarting the Mavericks’ chances of winning this series. You know, as opposed to just cheering on their team. Facing scathing criticism by throngs for being fair weather and unknowledgeable fans — including this zinger by Round Mound of Rebound — must have taken its toll on the city.

Well maybe not. Buying up dolls to curse the other team — or improve your team’s chances — doesn’t exactly dispel notions of being a lousy basketball town, but it does offer some insight into the creativity of the denizens of Miami.

Two more games left to decide who the curse will actually effect. In the meantime, Yanecci Fuentes should be a very happy man.

Voodoo? Really? Leave it to Miami to attempt to curse other teams to win a championship.

And that’s why they are gonna lose. They’re just cursing their own team this way. Dallas did nothing but support their team when they lost and look where they are: 1 game away from the Championship. Go DALLAS.
