NBA fans really “like” the Lakers

If you were wondering which NBA franchise is having the most success expanding their brand around the globe, the answer probably won’t surprise you.

According to their team website, the Lakers have become the first North American sports franchise to surpass 11 million Facebook friends, despite only having a FB page since 2008.

The Celtics are second in the NBA, with over 5.6 million, while the Bobcats (not surprisingly either) bring up the rear with just over 85,000 fans.

Worldwide, the Lakers are have the fourth-most Facebook fans of any sports franchise, behind only soccer behemoths Manchester United, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

    I like the trade for CP3 but we have to keep Gasol, I don’t mind us sending Bynum packing because he is a train reck. Darn near every year he is hurting his knee, I’ve had my fill of the kid, he needs to go. I never thought he could be a dominant center in this league anyway, maybe it’s because he is so darn soft. Ok, let’s see, Kobe, CP3, Gasol, World Peace and possibly D Howard. Wow, let’s dust off the mantal, we are going to be a dynasty. The Lakers have to start looking into the future as well because my boy Kobe is not going to be here forever.

      i agree with you man we should send Bynum packing we need Gasol one of the best big men in the NBA this season will be a joy to watch CP3 and KB24 all day

    some owners are jealous that they can’t pull players that they want and make a astonishing roster/line up
    that’s why they didn’t want to make this deal do,.,it fair for them while paul less hornets next season suffers without players in return,.,

    Agree with you on everything but Bynum! I think his best days are yet to come! He has to have a complete and healthy season! Look at what he accomplishes when he’s healthy! And you are actually saying he’s soft?????? Are you sure we’re talking about the same guy???
