Watch This Montage Of The Greatest Moments In Sports

by Micah Hart

I am a sucker for YouTube compilations of all kinds, so when I caught this one yesterday on Buzzfeed I had to share it. Plenty of basketball highlights interspersed within, with the heaviest focus naturally on Michael Jordan. Enjoy:

Obviously, you could spend all day discussing what other basketball plays should be in the mix, but any glaring omissions stand out?

this was an amazing video until i realized they left out tim thomas’s save in the 2011 stanley cup and oh i dunno maybe that little 2004 red sox title, bloody sock, back to foulke, ortiz’s late inning heroics and i didn’t see ONE single no hitter or perfect game, it was well done but who ever did it is pretty dumb to have forgotten some of the things they did and to have put in half of the lebron high lights and the dunk conrtest stuff? really? if you’re gunna put in dunks then how about dr. j’s famous one and no mention of wilt or jerry west? and to prove im not biased, david tyrees catch should have been in there. a well done video but minimal sports knowledge

  3. Victor Manoel says:

Great video! I missed two moments, from Pelé: the first one, a move from the 1970 World Cup, in Mexico, in which he deludes the Uruguayan goalkeeper and barely misses the goal; the second one, his first goal in the Final game of the 1958 World Cup, in Sweden (Brazil won the game and was, for the first time, World Champion in soccer).

  4. DrPhilNZ says:

John Starks The Dunk; Reggie Millers 8 points in 6 seconds, Randolph Childress crossing over Jeff McInnis in the ACC Tournament, Derek Anderson subbing in to shoot freethrows after blowing his ACL the same season.
About 10 of David Beckhams free kicks. The FINAL MJ Shot vs Bryon Russel.. Shaq’s only game winner; the fadeaway jump hook. Nick Van Exel falling out of bounds 3..
    Sooo Many missed

    Great Video. Jo Pa? Really?

  7. jaxwel says:

its was less of great Olympian Micheal Phelps that won 22 medals in Olympic games.

  8. Andrew says:

While most of these “moments” were indeed great, it’s a bit too exclusively U.S.-focussed to be the “greatest moments”. There are many more culturally and politically significant moments in sport than, for example, simply a great catch in a Game 7 of the World Series.

  9. Brennan says:

    Missing Things:
Where’s The Catch by Willie Mays?
Magic’s behind-the-backs and his one sky hook
    Kareem
Yogi Berra and Don Larsen after the prefect game
    BIRD’S STEAL!!
    McHale’s clothesline of Kurt Rambis
Serena and Venus Williams or Arthur Ashe
    Jack Nicklaus
    Jeff Malone’s Game-winner
    Henderson’s steal
    Bart Starr
    Hakeem dream shake
Less of Vince, maybe only the between the legs and the dunk over Weis
    Dream Team!!!
    Sea of Hands
    Fumblerooski
    Holy Roller
    Original Hail Mary
    Jerry West half-court shot
    Desmond Howard’s kickoff return
    More of Gretzky, mabye Orr

  10. Di Luukie says:

Nice mix! But Eddy Merckx should have been in it, one of the greatest sportsmen ever.
