Rookies get owned by Dwight Howard

by Zettler Clay IV

The new center in L.A. was finally cleared for 5-on-5 runs. While this new center is being coy about his return date, a couple of rookie centers on the Lakers’ roster got down and dirty in the paint with said center:

Poor Robert Sacre and Greg Somogyi, who looked like they just faced basketball hell. They shouldn’t worry though. The rest of the league’s big men could be mimicking their expressions sooner rather than later.

On an unrelated — totally related — note, it appears that Lakers practices are the place to be:

I don’t know what planet the writer is on but that vid doesn’t showed dwight owning them both. 1 block on Sacre and 1 dunk on possibly the skinniest centre in the nba somogyi isn’t owning. They both showed a couple of nice moves. Great to see Dwight back though, can’t wait to see him in a game!

Nice Video!!! Dwight was pretty much doing what ever he wanted so the other guy on here doesn’t know what he talking about he must of never played basketball or else you would know he owned them trust me 1 on 1 is different than a game and Dwight 1 on 1 was owning them its about defense of presence not just blocks and steals the could barely score on him and he isn’t even all the way healthy or was trying his hardest trust me I have played basketball my whole life and during the game its different than 1 on 1 especially in the post and Dwight is smaller than both of them and he still owned them.
Don’t believe me play anyone who is good at basketball see if you can block once or swipe the ball ill bet the will score all over you!!! JUST SAYING!!!

I agree with Jacob, Dwight was playing with them like if they where in High School.

I was expecting to see a scrimmage, not drills. Dwight is supposed to do this to them right now. It’s practice for them, not for him. He’s suppopsed to go all out on them right now, teach them what playing in the NBA is like. theyre playing preseason against other rookies, he’s here to say “hey this is what big dudes really play like”.

Scottie and MJ did the same thing to Tony Kukoc in the olympics (everyone watched the documentary right)?? but so by doing that, he is better preparing them. Especially since it looks like we’ll need all the big man help we can get.

    Dwight may get injured.
Pau is old, might get injrued
Hill already is and the back is sensitive, so this could be reccuring throughout the year.
And everyone wants Antawn playing SF for some reason.

So ya I say keep banging with em, theyll become key pieces for us with a guy like dwight tutoring them!

yeah he is supposed to go all out on LA rookies so that he might get injured or re injured his back…nice stupid comment coming from you.

Sacre and Somgyi both have potential that is for sure………dwight looks great though!

DH is immature clown. Trading franchise player for him was a mistake.

So your saying Andrew Bynum was more mature? He laughed when his own teammate got dunked on and thats what your measuring Dwight to? Howard is the most dominant center in the league and just like Shaq likes to joke that is his personality. One of the best trades in laker history and definitely a great move for this season. I hope nothing but the best for the lakers and hopefully we hold the trophy by the end of the year. LAKERS ALL THE WAY!!

Where does he own them? Seriously?

  8. jess says:

lol bynum was never gonna be the franchise player hes to imature and his post up play is to week as big as he is he should of been dunking on other centers instead of settaling for little 3 0r 4 footers.
