NBA Style: Sideline Style Pt. 2

NBA Style

by Baron Davis –

What’s up?! It’s BD again with my second installment of Sideline Style. Last week I looked at the early days of the NBA coaches’ style. Some really nailed it, others not so much. If you missed it, go back and read it here.

Call me Captain Obvious, but I think it’s fair to say that most of the coaches nowadays keep it pretty conservative.  Let’s take a look:

Byron Scott

Boston Celtics v Cleveland Cavaliers  Phil Jackson

Chicago Bulls: Phil Jackson

Mike Woodson

New York Knicks v Golden State Warriors

Mike Dunleavy Sr.

Houston Rockets v Los Angeles Clippers

Scott Brooks

Oklahoma City Thunder v Memphis Grizzlies - Game Four

As I mentioned last week, there’s only one Pat Riley, and he’s been keeping it stylish from the beginning.

Along with Riles, there is another face cruising the sidelines who has one of the boldest fashion sense of them all.  Of course, I’m talking about none other than Mr. Craig Sager.

Indiana Pacers v Miami Heat - Game Five

NBA All-Star Practice

I’m sure some of you are going to say, “But wait, didn’t you burn him on Twitter a few weeks ago?” While that might be true, anyone with Craig’s fashion courage knows that there’s going to be some jokes made once in a while.

Regardless of his misses, Sager has fully embraced what it is to push the envelope of NBA Style.
