ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — When the Milwaukee Bucks used a first round selection during this summer’s Draft on Greek big man Giannis Antetokounmpo, most fans and draft experts didn’t know much about him. Perhaps it was for that reason, but most people immediately projected Antetokounmpo as a project, someone who wouldn’t be able to contribute until a few years down the road. Yet when I saw him in person a few weeks back at the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot, the thing that jumped out at us was his frame — he’s thin, yes, but his arms are long and shoulders are wide and his hands are tremendous.
He’s played in four preseason games and has had some nice numbers, including a 7-rebound, 4-block game. With Antetokounmpo, it is about potential more than it is about his present. And as we look to the future for him and wait for him to grow into his body, as someone noted on Twitter last night, Antetokounmpo’s hands are actually longer than his head.

Who knows what kind of impact he’ll have this season, but he’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. I think we have a real MUSCLE WATCH contender down the road here.
