Kevin Love Will Not Answer Your Non-Questions

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — I have been on the other side, and it isn’t always fun. As a sports reporter and a journalist, we are tasked with asking questions and searching out answers. Occasionally that can mean asking a question you don’t really want to ask, but you do have to ask a question in order to get an answer — that’s kind of how it works. Yes, there are some athletes who will play ball, so to speak, and will give you an answer even when you begin your “question” by saying, “Can you talk about…” even though they are under no obligation to do so. But if you begin your “question” by saying “Can you talk about…” you aren’t asking a specific question, you are asking them to complete an action. Also, it’s easy for them to just say, “No.”

In some ways, Minnesota’s Kevin Love had a tough night last night against the Clippers. He finished with a stat-stuffing line — 23 points, 19 rebounds, 7 assists. But down two with about a second left on the clock, Love had a point-blank put-back to send the game into overtime…and it just rimmed out. So it’s hard to fault Love when, just minutes later in the postgame interview process, a reporter asked a question that wasn’t really a question. And Love calmly called it as he saw it: “That wasn’t a question.”

VIDEO: Kevin Love Wasn’t A Question

  1. Baller says:

Kevin Love come to the Lakers! We will give you real questions, like “How did you manage to win that championship in your first year in purple and gold?”

  2. TheTruth says:

lol desperate Laker fans. Just let it go.

  3. txemacasanueva says:

You Laker fans are soooo boring!

  4. lujo says:

i love the laker “fans”…they live in some sort of world where they think that they are goin get love, melo, lebron and dont forget kobe….get real

  5. Neil Young says:

cmon now, he already is a real Laker. a Minneapolis Laker. Or did we all forget 5 of those banners hanging in Staples are not L.A.’s. They should be hanging in Target center.

    • Ned says:

how should those banners be hanging in the Target Center? Did the T’wolves win them? Just because you relocate doesn’t mean you didn’t win them. You would seriously want championship banners hanging in your arena that another team won, and you literally had no part in making happen? Wow, must be tough to be a timberwolves fan these days haha

    • anthonyburton says:

the Twolves were an expansion team fool, They aren’t the LAKERS. Relocation does not equal revocation of championships.

  6. NYKFAN says:

Too bad he’s coming to New York next season.

  7. AnnoYouLater says:

just had some bad luck with the put back…but KL is playing like a beast right now…he’s crazy consistent and even if he doesnt score much the rebound is gona make it for him…

  8. Unggoy says:

This guy always perform outstanding when he is healthy. Minesota’s roster this year is great, they could be a contender. Great starters and well supporting bench players. KL is like a ball magnet, it is like when ever he tries to rebound the ball goes to his direction all the time.

  9. OKC says:

@Ned nah I would say it’s pretty nice for the Timberwolves fans right now with one of the best front courts in the league and the best power forward in the league…. now being a Laker fan, that has to suck right now lol. Hmm should i get a Steve Blake jersey or a Chris Kaman jersey?

  10. Gillsy says:

Love is playing well this year. But the the best thing about The Twolves is picking up Kmart he makes them look like a more complete team and takes dome pressure off Love.

  11. Eaham says:

I like seeing KLove as TWolve, but Lakers will definately get superstars to jon=in them. I always asumed Westbrook will leave OKC because he always wanted his own team, and him being joined by Kevin love sounds like a decent possibility. I am not a laker fan but its a place a lot fo players want to play. I just find it funny that the laker fans thing Melo lebron wade bosh, might consider h=joining KObe at this stage. Not happening. Tank for wiggins

  12. wooderson says:

best power forward since tim Duncan was in his prime
