Kareem And Airplane! Stars Reunite For Wisconsin Commercial

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — What is the best way to encourage tourists to visit Wisconsin? The people of Travel Wisconsin decided the best possible way was to reunite the stars, director and producers of the seminal comedy Airplane!, which was released 34 years ago. One of those people, of course, is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who not only acted in Airplane!, but also was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks and won a title with the Bucks in 1971. Roger? What?

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was only in this film as the part was originally going to be played by Pete Rose but he wasn’t available at the time of filming.

Cool. Thanks for sharing this commercial, cuz I don’t think I’d know about it otherwise.

That was a low blow about leaving Wisconsin Kareem. Well played. Well played. Although I sincerely believed he could have won almost as many rings with Oscar, he made an interesting choice to leave the team which already had a great player for his legacy’s sake. Funnily enough, Magic was drafted by the Lakers and he ended up on the wrong side of the comparisons between the too.
