Portland Trail Blazers pay tribute to Dr. Jack Ramsay

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — There has been so much happening in and around the NBA the last week, that one story probably didn’t get the attention it deserved. On Monday we learned about the death of Dr. Jack Ramsay, the longtime coach and broadcaster. There have been many terrific tributes paid over the last few days to the Hall of Famer, who won a title in Portland in 1977. His son, Chris, wrote a particularly poignant piece.     My first memory of Dr. Jack was when he was coaching the Buffalo Braves during the “Two for McAdoo” years. The man was legendary and innovative-much like the late Roger Neilson was to hockey.
    You can’t always judge a coach by the number of championship rings he wears.
