Draft fact: John Stockton, chosen 16th in the 1984 Draft, had only started occasionally in his first three seasons. But by his fourth season in 1987-88, he registered 79 starts, beginning his run as Utah’s starter for the next 16 seasons. During that ’87-88 campaign, Stockton averaged a league-best 13.8 apg (as well as 14.7 ppg) en route to his first All-Star selection.
