    George “Mr. Basketball” Mikan was a beast in his time. Pro basketball 1st superstar. He only played pro ball for seven years, yet he lead his team to five titles. Mikan retired at 29, not due to injury, but because he got married and had to get a “real job” (he had a law degree) in order to support his family. The Lakers attempted to get him to make a comeback at age 31, but his heart really wasn’t in it. Mikan started the Laker trend of winning titles w/ an All-Star, future HOF in the low post.

    Mikan: 5, Chamberlain: 1, Jabbar: 5, Shaq: 3, Gasol: 2. No other Laker has won more titles then Big George.
