Kyle Anderson shows off new Spurs title jersey patch

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — I spent all day yesterday at the NBA rookie photo shoot filming interviews with the rookies, and we’ll have plenty more from that in the days and weeks to come. The event is a great way to get access to the incoming rookie class — at one point John Schuhmann and I were in the lunch line in between a couple of guys in uniform, and it felt like one of those ESPN commercials.

Another neat feature is the chance to see for the first time all the uniforms teams will wear next season. This season there are a few completely new uniforms (Charlotte) and some tweaks here and there, but the most prevalent uniform design change is that every franchise that has won a championship now has a little gold tag on the back of the jersey. It’s an idea with a nod to soccer, where teams and countries who have won domestic or international titles traditionally get a small gold star on their jersey. In the NBA’s iteration, the teams get a patch with a number showing how many times they’ve won an NBA title.

Yesterday, San Antonio rookie Kyle Anderson took a moment at the rookie photo shoot to post an image of what the Spurs jerseys will look like next season, now that they’ve won five championships…

  11. Aw, this was an exceptionally good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to produce a good article… but what can I say…
I hesitate a whole lot and never seem to get nearly anything done.
