The NBA’s annual Rookie Photo Shoot Day is an opportunity for the league’s newest players to be interviewed and photographed in one convenient venue, i.e., the Madison Square Garden Training Center in Tarrytown, N.Y.

It’s also an opportunity for them to show off their skills and — let’s face it — get their goof on.

Here’s No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns of the Timberwolves, perhaps getting in some early practice for next season’s Sprite Slam Dunk Contest:

How about the Heat’s Josh Richardson (with a little help from Towns and the Hornets’ Frank Kaminsky)?

And the Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell:

The Heat’s Justise Winslow says hi:

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson of the Nets and Bobby Portis of the Bulls aren’t holding back:

D’Angelo Russell again, from the opposite foul line:

This time from over his head:

Towns and Kaminksy again. Or least Kaminsky’s feet:

Hollis-Jefferson needs to come out of his shell:

Nice entrance by the Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis:

And finally, here’s the whole crew. Welcome to the NBA!
