Saturday Night Live Tackles Linsanity

by Micah Hart

Saturday Night Live has been known throughout its history for not only touching on the news of the day, but also for holding up a mirror to how the culture responds to certain events. So it’s no surprise that the show led its broadcast last night with this parody sketch about Jeremy Lin, the obsession with wordplay using his name, and how the issue of race has played a part in the coverage:

Pretty sharp satire from the Not Ready For Primetime players. If Lin keeps up his play, I’m wondering if he might find himself with some hosting duties before too long.

Why Yes, It Is Another Jeremy Lin Tribute Video

by Micah Hart

I promise we won’t post all of these Jeremy Lin tributes, because at this point we probably wouldn’t be able to leave the computer for days on end if we did, but I did enjoy this 80′s-style rock ballad (by way of Jockular):

This seems like it would have fit in nicely over the credits of an 80′s teen movie, or perhaps as part of a training montage of some sort.

And Speaking of Jeremy Lin Puns: David Letterman’s Top Ten List

by Micah Hart

You have officially arrived when you are the subject of a Late Show Top Ten List:

Unlike the previous offering by the NY Dailies, I would wager the writing staff at Letterman had a blast trying to outdo each other for worst Jeremy Lin puns.

Can you top any of these?

NY Papers Leading The World In Lin Puns

by Micah Hart

Via Best Week Ever, an accounting of every Lin-inspired (Linspired?) headling at the New York Post and New York Daily News during the fortnight of Jeremy Lin mania:

I like to think there is a big easel in someone’s office at each paper with a written list of every Lin pun they could come up with. I imagine they are going to have to start brainstorming again soon.

In Addition to Basketball, Jeremy Lin is Also Good at Laser Tag

by Micah Hart

Via Jockular, here is what Jeremy Lin was focusing on just three short months ago:

I imagine beating a bunch of children in laser tag should help him prepare for upcoming games against the Bobcats and Hornets (ZING!).

Here is Jeremy Lin Winning a California High School State Championship

by Micah Hart

We’re getting pretty close to being all Lin, all the time, but hey, you gotta give the fans what they want. Sometimes I don’t appreciate what the Internet is capable of until a story like this comes along, and a guy who was mostly anonymous a week ago now has pretty much his entire life available for your enjoyment in video form.

The latest? Here are the highlights from Jeremy Lin‘s senior year at Palo Alto High, winning the California D-II state championship:

I fully expect to see footage of Lin singing karaoke at Six Flags on the web any minute now.

The Colbert Report Tackles the Issue of Linsanity

by Micah Hart

The Jeremy Lin express rolls on, this time getting some recognition from everyone’s favorite fake newscaster Stephen Colbert:

We were just thinking of retiling our kitchen floor — perhaps Lin-oleum is just what we need.

‘Nick of Time’, the Latest Jeremy Lin Tribute Video, Is Pretty Decent

by Micah Hart

Like the rest of the NBA, we are slowly (or not so slowly) being overtaken by coverage of the Jeremy Lin phenomenon, but the story is so awesome, I really have no regrets on that front. It doesn’t seem like anyone else is tiring of it either, as yet another Lin tribute song has made its way to YouTube:

I gotta say — that ain’t bad, MC Jin, and I give you bonus points for making the pun in the title about the Knicks and not Lin’s name itself, as everyone else on the planet (myself included) seems to be incapable of avoiding.

NY Celebs Show Love For Lin

by Micah Hart

The Jeremy Lin love train rolls on, as New York’s newest superstar has captured the world’s attention by leading the Knicks to five straight wins, and reeled in some very famous fans in the process, including Ben Stiller, The Rock, and former Knicks’ greats John Starks and Larry Johnson:

Lin continues to keep some pretty impressive company in this crazy run; his 20 points in Saturday night’s win over the Wolves catapulted him past none other than Allen Iverson for most points scored in a player’s first four starts since the NBA-ABA merger.
