Stance unveils All-Star Weekend socks

Both events

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — We got a look at the official All-Star Weekend uniforms a few weeks ago, and not Stance, the official oncourt sock provider for the NBA, has dropped images of the official socks for the All-Star Game as well as the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge. According to a release from Stance…

The Western Conference sock, which is red-and-white, and the Eastern Conference sock, a complimentary blue-and-white, are both colored to accentuate the uniform. The embroidered Stance logo on the front of each sock is gold, to represent the magnitude of the 65th All-Star Game, while the NBA logo on the back is encased in a Toronto-associated maple leaf. The cuff of each sock incorporates a ring of multiple colors that pays homage to the same stripe on the uniform. Meanwhile, in an effort to memorialize the Game, the footbed includes the phrase TO16.

The All-Star Game is not the only event getting a commemorative on-court sock in Toronto. On Friday night, during the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge, rookies and sophomores will don special footwear. The black-and-gold sock owes its design to both the event’s uniform and the Toronto Raptors’ alternate team colors. The gold Stance and NBA embroideries serve as a reminder of the gravity of the event.

NBA All-Star socks ($28) and BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge socks ($28) are now available at Stance.com and NBAStore.com.

Mike Dunleavy breaks out the ugly sweater vest

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — We’ve seen the Sacramento Kings embrace the ugly holiday sweater trend. And now that trend seems to have worked it’s way East, at least as far as Chicago.

Last night during the Bulls game against the Nets, injured forward Mike Dunleavy broke out his finest ugly holiday sweater. A few weeks back he wore a leisure suit on the bench. Last night? Dunleavy went with the light-up sweater vest. Happy holidays!

Derrick Rose puts his son on a t-shirt

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Last season during the playoffs, Bulls guard Derrick Rose brought his son to the press conference podium during their series against the Cavs, and when his son gave the cameras a disapproving look, a social media star was born…

And if you didn’t think players aren’t aware of what’s happening on social media, think again, as after last night’s Bulls win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, D-Rose redefined #NBAStyle, breaking out a t-shirt that celebrates his son’s social media stardom…

Shumpert switches it up for the summer

By Jeff Case

Few players in the NBA have as recognizable of a hairstyle as Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert. For several seasons now, he’s been rocking the “Gumby” haircut (shown below), which is basically a really big flat top.

Iman Shumpert

Shumpert is/was a free agent this summer, but reportedly reached a deal with the Cavs to the tune of four years and $40 million. So, it is understandable he’s living it up a little bit this summer and decided why not change the hairdo, too. TMZSPorts caught up with Shumpert, who has a decidedly new look …

Bucks unveil new uniforms

NBA.com staff reports

VIDEO: Bucks players and coach see new uniforms

The Milwaukee Bucks completed their transformation on Saturday, unveiling new home and road uniforms at a rally in downtown Milwaukee.

Per the team, the jerseys include a number of unique elements:

BLUE COLLAR – The inside of the collar features a blue stripe, representative of the blue collar work ethic of not only the Bucks, but also of the city and state that the team proudly represents.

M CREST – Detailing on the outside of the collar features the modern “M” that is present in both the primary and secondary logos.

CHAMPIONSHIP TAB – The gold tab on the jerseys commemorates the Bucks’ 1971 World Championship season. Milwaukee is one of only 16 teams to wear the gold championship tab.

CREAM CITY RAINBOW – The unique color block pattern on the sides of the jerseys showcases the color palette of the new Bucks and is an homage to the popular “Irish Rainbow” detailing that adorned Bucks uniforms from 1977 through 1993.

MILWAUKEE ROADS – For the first time since 1977, the Bucks’ official road uniforms will proudly display “Milwaukee” across the chest, returning the city to its rightful place on the global stage.

FEAR THE DEER – A custom “Fear the Deer” player tag at the bottom of the jerseys serves as a reminder to the players each time they put on their uniforms of the aggressive attitude and team spirit they are expected to carry with them onto the court.

NEGATIVE SPACE M – Detailing on the sides of the shorts is designed to create an “M” in the negative space, another subtle carryover from our team marks and a representation of our hometown pride.

CUSTOM FONT – Word marks and numerals are created from the Bucks new proprietary font that is featured throughout the new logo set.

Spencer Hawes redefines NBA style

Golden State Warriors v Los Angeles Clippers

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Los Angeles Clippers center Spencer Hawes did not play in last night’s win over the Golden State Warriors as he recovered from injury, but that didn’t stop him from having a big impact on the game. It was Christmas Day, you see, and while that normally means ugly sweaters, Hawes instead showed up with what appeared to be a custom suit perhaps made out of wrapping paper. As Charles Barkley said on “Inside the NBA,” “I’d hate to see the suit he didn’t buy.”

Chandler Parsons debuts sock collaboration with Stance

ALL BALL NERVE CENTERChandler Parsons has had an eventful few months, becoming one of the offseasons most coveted free agents with his move from Houston to Dallas. And apparently he’s been busy off the court, as well.

In the video below, Parsons discusses his newly minted partnership with Stance Socks, the brand NBA fans may know from their collaboration with Dwyane Wade. Parsons — an avowed sockaholic who says he actually plans his outfits around his socks — recently got a sock deal with Stance, and has a signature sock coming soon.

To that end, Parsons spent time with Stance recently to film a short flick about his love for Stance Hoops, the brand’s basketball collection. Here’s the world premiere of that video…

James Harden makes bold NBA Style choice

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — The Houston Rockets took on the Los Angeles Lakers last night on ESPN, and James Harden was not about to let the opportunity slide. With a nationally televised game against one of the NBA’s marquee franchises, on the same day as the debut of his hilarious Foot Locker commercial, Harden decided to show off his NBA Style with a bold sweatshirt.

And as often happens in matters of NBA Style, some people on Twitter were willing to share their opinions…

Russell Westbrook dressed to impress last night

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — First of all, let’s make one thing clear: Russell Westbrook was incredible last night. Leading a Thunder team riddled with injuries, Westbrook was nearly unstoppable, finishing with 38 points and 6 assists against Portland in a losing effort.

But that performance was a bit overshadowed by his style performance off the floor, including this Mylar jacket Westbrook wore to the game.

And as often happens, Twitter went in on Westbrook’s gear…

Iman Shumpert knows what time it is

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — #NBAStyle is still a thing, and New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert took it to new heights after last night’s Knicks preseason game. He’s wearing a baseball cap with what appears to be a clock installed on the front of the hat. Or maybe several clocks? Or a two clocks and a compass? It’s hard to tell exactly what the device is, other than it looks expensive and ornate and kinda cool.
