POSTERIZED POLL Week of Jan. 1

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Like we always do at this time, let’s take a look at the best instances of people getting #POSTERIZED over the last week and, at the bottom of the post, you can place your vote for a winner. And don’t forget, if you see someone get posterized, tweet it with the hashtag #POSTERIZED so we don’t miss it!

By the way, welcome to 2016! I’m thinking we’ll continue with weekly #POSTERIZED polls until we get a little closer to the All-Star break, and then we’ll round up all the previous winners and crown a first half champ. We can do the same with the second half of the season, and then have a poll to select an overall winner as well.

Special shoutout to last week’s winner, Utah’s Alec Burks, as he goes for back-to-back wins this week. And let me say right here, I understand that Burks’ dunk this week generated some controversy — was it technically a dunk? Did he just throw the ball through the basket?

The beauty of the #POSTERIZED Poll is that it doesn’t even really matter. Did a player put someone else on a poster? Then that’s good enough for us!

OK, let’s get to the POSTERS…

Steph Curry, J.R. Smith, Lance Stephenson compete in new Crossover Contest

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Last season we had the occasional Crossover Contest post. This season, I was planning on saving up some of this season’s best crossovers for one big season-ending post. But after the weekend we had, I think we need to break out another Crossover Contest, because dudes were putting people on skates all across the NBA.

Let’s start in Cleveland, where J.R. Smith sent Brandon Knight flying with a killer crossover…

VIDEO: J.R. on Knight

Now to Los Angeles, where Chandler Parsons had Lakers forward Ryan Kelly all mixed up…

VIDEO: Parsons on Kelly

In Detroit, down the stretch in a close game, Lance Stephenson went at Anthony Tolliver and left him stumbling in his tracks…

VIDEO: Lance on Tolliver

And let’s end with Stephen Curry yesterday out in the Bay, where he crossed over half the Clippers and drained the three…

Now it’s your turn: Who had the trickiest dribble? Cast your vote for the winner in the latest Crossover Contest…

Blake Griffin All-Star poster

by Micah Hart

All Ball reader Shane D. sent us this poster he created all the way from Australia, and we just had to share it. Well done Shane:

I guess it’ll have to be updated now that Mozgov and Gallinari have swapped teams, but seems like a pretty good list. Anyone disagree with the lineup? Let us know in the comments.

The Decision, part III

by Micah Hart

Anthony Tolliver is a solid basketball player, but that’s not really what he’s known for. Though Tolliver has played in parts of three seasons in the NBA, he is best known in popular culture as the NBA player who had the nerve to spoof the King, announcing his decision to play for the Timberwolves this summer via a homeless man’s LeBron-like press conference on YouTube.  In case you forgot:

You may have noticed a voice in the video off-camera — maybe you wondered who it was, maybe you didn’t — but it turns out the voice was Tolliver’s girlfriend at the time, Jessica Svaboda.

I say at the time, because Svaboda has been put to making a Decision of her own, as Timberwolves.com’s Jonah Ballow found out:

Tolliver grabbed the team photographer and videographer to stage a photo shoot with his girlfriend, Jessica Svoboda, who was in town from Houston. Jessica was under the assumption that she was going to take professional photos at Loring Park and then at the practice facility with the two posing in Wolves uniforms. All along, Tolliver planned on surprising his future fiancée while documenting the entire event.

Congrats to Tolliver, who seems like a really hard worker and all-around good guy for the Timberwolves on and off the court.
