Carmelo Anthony partakes in Running Man challenge

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Last night on the “Tonight Show,” someone asked host Jimmy Fallon if he could get a basketball player to partake in the Running Man Challenge. Who better for Fallon to find behind the hidden door than Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony?

LeBron James vs. Jimmy Fallon in Faceketball

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — After a few weeks off following the 2015 NBA Finals, LeBron James is back to work, this time out promoting the new movie Trainwrecked, in which he co-stars. So last night LeBron visited “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon,” where he took on Fallon in a classic game of Faceketball. Faceketball? Yeah, faceketball. And despite Fallon having an injured hand, he makes this a surprisingly close competition…

When Other People Wear Shaq’s Clothes

ALL BALL NERVE CENTERShaquille O’Neal is one of the largest human beings in the world, which means he wears some of the largest clothes in the world. So if you ever see some of Shaq’s clothes laying around, be sure to try them on and snap a photo, because it’s never not funny.

The most recent example of this comes from Sacramento, where Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas found a shirt belonging to Shaq — a Kings co-owner — laying around and tried it on.

Of course, this is just the most recent example of this phenomenon. Just a few weeks back, Shaq was a guest on the first week of Jimmy Fallon‘s new gig hosting the “Tonight Show.” And on that night, he let Fallon try on his jacket…

Going back a few more months, when Tracy McGrady was pulling a shift on NBA TV’s “GameTime” and he needed a suit, he thought he could pull off wearing one of Shaq’s suits that was sitting around the Turner studios…

And a few months before that, Reggie Miller was in the Turner studios and decided to give one of Shaq’s coats a try…

LeBron James And Jimmy Fallon Play Wastepaper Basketball

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Basketball is my favorite sport — I like the way they dribble up and down the court.

If you didn’t know, that’s a line from Kurtis Blow’s seminal hip-hop hoops anthem “Basketball.” It’s a song that not only has become an all-time sports music classic, but it also inspired a viral video from “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, who teamed with LeBron James to make a tribute to Kurtis Blow, which also references the favorite game of bored office workers everywhere, wastepaper hoops…

Michael Jordan Surprises Jimmy Fallon

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — On a recent episode of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” just as Fallon was about to interview the hilarious actress/comedian Kristen Wiig, something surprising happened: Michael Jordan showed up.

According to MJ, he just happened to be in the building — “practicing” — so he stopped by for a visit. Watch as Fallon and MJ discuss some of the high points of his career, such as “The Shot” he of course made against the Cleveland Buccaneers, as well as the strategy behind the play: “Run it through the people.”

Later, Fallon and MJ performed a duet of one of MJ’s signature songs, a riff on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.”

Yay All-Star And All, But What About Lin?

by Micah Hart

In case you were thinking the NBA, its fans and its media had become incapable of paying attention to anything other than Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks, I hope All-Star Weekend put that notion to rest. Lin made an appearance Friday night in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, but that aside the weekend was mostly Lin free. I say that not to complain or to be smug — just to note that when Lin is not part of the storyline we all seemed capable of avoiding trying to shoehorn him into it.

Having said that … with all of our attention on Orlando, there were a few Lin-related items that slipped through the cracks, and now that we are back to regularly scheduled programming, here’s a rundown:

I think that about catches us up for now. At least for the next few hours.
