Kobe isn’t thrilled with the Lakers celebrations

ALL BALL NERVE CENTERKobe Bryant may be out for the season after shoulder surgery, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to go quietly.

But before we get to Kobe, let’s rewind to Sunday night, when the Lakers beat the Celtics in overtime, 118-111. The win was just the 14th of the season for the Lakers, and during Jeremy Lin‘s postgame interview, Jordan Hill and Nick Young showed up to blow off some steam, in funny fashion…

Back to Kobe. Last night, Bryant appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and Kimmel played Kobe the tape of Lin, Young and Hill. And let’s just say Kobe didn’t seem thrilled about it…

‘Dancing Usher’ is already in mid-season form

By Nick Margiasso IV

He’s baaaaaaaaack.

By now the jiving and thriving of the Detroit Pistons’ dancing usher, Shannon Sailes, aka ‘The Dancing Usher’, are well known. Be it the jerking and working he did high atop the stairwell to first gain notoriety or the beautiful breakdown he provided on late night TV, the moves of the the most famous ticket-taker at The Palace at Auburn Hills are well worth a view. That is, if you haven’t seen it a million times already.

But, if ya don’t know, now ya know. And check the sunglasses indoors flow, bro…

Can you spell Dwyane Wade?

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — In yet another NBA-themed video from Jimmy Kimmel, we discover that Dwyane Wade is the athlete with the most commonly misspelled name. (I’m assuming this poll was taken before Giannis Antetokounmpo joined the Milwaukee Bucks.) To find out just how tricky it is get Wade’s first name correct, Kimmel sent a camera crew out on the streets of Los Angeles and offered up a hundred bucks to anyone who could spell it correctly.

Can Michael Jordan palm it?

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — One of the enduring images of Michael Jordan is of him easily palming a basketball, whether it’s to soar in for a dunk or post up with his body between the ball and the defender. While Jordan wasn’t the tallest player in the NBA, he had huge hands, which allowed him to handle the rock like it was nothing.

But just how huge were MJ’s mitts? Jimmy Kimmel decided to find out on last night’s NBA Finals pregame show by asking him to palm a bunch of random objects…

Paul George Visits Jimmy Kimmel

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — If there was ever any doubt, we can officially put it to rest: Indiana Pacers forward Paul George is having a breakout season. Not only is George one of the best scorers and defenders in the league, but George was recently named an All-Star starter for the first time, and his Pacers have the best record in the NBA. And now, to truly cement his status, George is making the late night TV rounds, as last night he stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to talk about his 360 dunk, his wardrobe, and what it’s like when Larry Bird is hanging around at practice…

Detroit Dance-Off Resumes On Jimmy Kimmel Live

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Here at All Ball, we’ve been all over the story of Shannon Sailes, the Dancing Usher at Detroit Pistons games. Most recently, we saw him engage a young fan in something of a dance-off at a game a few weeks back. The clip of that dance-off went viral, enough so that it caught the attention of the crew at “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” So last night, Kimmel brought Sailes and the young fan, Antoine Alexander, to Los Angeles, to allow the dance-off to continue …

NBA Players Read Mean Tweets About Themselves

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — As anyone who has used Twitter can attest, the somewhat anonymous nature the service can provide seems to embolden a specific group of people to say things they would probably never say to your face. Then again, considering the tenor of some of the invective that gets launched, perhaps these are things that these people would say to your face — or at least to my face.

But would you mouth off to Blake Griffin? Kobe? Metta World Peace? Apparently they are not immune to the savages on Twitter either, as we see in this recent NBA-themed segment of “Mean Tweets” from “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

LeBron Haters Deliver Postmortem On Heat Championship Win

by Micah Hart

By winning his first NBA championship, LeBron James has shut a lot of mouths talking a lot of noise (mine included). Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, some of James’ harshest critics had to face the media and discuss what happened and how they plan to deal with the new reality:

Haters gonna keep hatin’, I suppose.

Mike Tyson Serenades (?) LeBron James

by Micah Hart

With the NBA Finals on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel Live is once again up to its old tricks with a pregame show before each Finals game. Before Tuesday night’s Game 1, a certain former boxer dusted off the singing skills he so deftly showed in The Hangover II to serenade LeBron James, this time with an original composition. Take it away, Mike Tyson:

Amazing performance. I’d buy the single if it were available. Perhaps the best thing I’ve ever heard*.

*What, you think I’m dumb enough to be snarky to Iron Mike? No chance.

Kevin Durant Shines On Jimmy Kimmel

by Micah Hart

I’m not sure if Kevin Durant has appeared on the talk show circuit before, but he seemed incredibly comfortable when he dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night in advance of tonight’s Lakers-Thunder tilt in L.A:

I know I’m a homer, but I feel like Seinfeld’s mom when I say this about Durant: “How could anyone not like him?”
