Detroit Pistons raise All-Star awareness for Andre Drummond

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — In the most recent round of All-Star voting, Pistons forward Andre Drummond was among the top three frontcourt players in the Eastern Conference, meaning if the voting results hold, Drummond will be an All-Star starter. But voting isn’t over, and with Carmelo Anthony only about 6,000 votes behind Drummond, it will clearly go down to the wire. So to get the word out and attempt to rally the city of Detroit around Drummond’s campaign, the Pistons sent their mascot, Hooper, as well as a superfan and their famous Dancing Usher to a Detroit City Council meeting to get their campaign on the record…

He’s baaaaaaaaack.

By now the jiving and thriving of the Detroit Pistons’ dancing usher, Shannon Sailes, aka ‘The Dancing Usher’, are well known. Detroit Dance-Off Resumes On Jimmy Kimmel Live

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — Here at All Ball, we’ve been all over the story of Shannon Sailes, the Dancing Usher at Detroit Pistons games. Most recently, we saw him engage a young fan in something of a dance-off at a game a few weeks back. Meet The Pistons’ Dancing Usher

By Jeff Case

The season is winding down and things haven’t gone so great in Detroit. The Pistons are just waiting to be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention for the fourth straight season and are on pace for their worst winning percentage in four seasons as well. Other than a roster stocked with young talent like Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond, Brandon Knight, Kyle Singler and fan favorite Viacheslav Kravtsov, there have not been a lot of reasons to get pumped about Detroit this season.

But don’t tell that to Shannon Sailes, or as he’s better known to The Palace at Auburn Hills faithful: The Dancing Usher. Since last season, Sailes has made a name for himself by busting out some pretty sharp dancing moves during the Dance Cam segment during timeouts at Pistons home games. We haven’t seen any video proof of this until this season and after seeing it, Sailes joins the aforementioned young core as a reason to take in a Detroit home game.

Jim Schaefer of The Detroit Free Press has a great Q&A with the man behind the moves and we’ve got the videos to back up just how great this guy is:
