That time Shaq crashed WrestleMania 32

By Jeff Case

Shaquille O’Neal has many accomplishments in his basketball-playing career (NBA champion, NBA Finals MVP, NBA MVP), he is an outspoken NBA analyst with Turner Sports and is never afraid to try his hand at many different off-the-court ventures.

We’re not sure what to categorize what Shaq did last night other than to say it’s Shaq being Shaq, perhaps. During last night’s WrestleMania 32 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, more than 100,000 fans were treated to a special sight during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That’s when O’Neal was a surprise entrant to the field.

According to

Looking fit in Tapout gear, the 15-time NBA All-Star rumbled with gigantic WWE Superstars like “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show and the demonic seven-footer Kane — and even eliminated Damien Sandow — before getting dumped by a slew of competitors.

And here’s some video of the event

It was a pretty busy night for Shaq, as he not only took part in a big event, but also met Brock Lesnar backstage before things got rolling …

Draymond Green breaks out WWE championship belt

ALL BALL NERVE CENTERRasheed Wallace is responsible for many different things, but one of the best may have been making WWE-style championship belts for the Detroit Pistons after they won a title in 2004. Sheed often wore his belt to games the next season, to show people that the champ was here…

INDIANAPOLIS - MAY 13: Rasheed Wallace of the Detroit Pistons arrives with his championship belt prior to the start of Game three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2005 NBA Playoffs on May 13, 2005 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The newest NBA champ is Draymond Green, who took to Instagram to show off his new title belt, which looks as though it came directly from the WWE. Now we need Draymond to wear it to games next season…

WWE champ Seth Rollins trolls LeBron, Manziel

CLEVELAND — We’re here in Cleveland, waiting for Game 6 of the NBA Finals to tip off tonight, but last night the WWE rolled into town, which meant even as wrestling took over, people were talking NBA. I spent the night ringside, where I had a great view when, for instance, The Big Show tossed The Miz into Ryback at the announce table…

But the evening began with WWE champ Seth Rollins addressing the Cleveland crowd, and in classic wrasslin’ fashion, Rollins got on the mic and let Cleveland know that despite Johnny Manziel (a.k.a. “Johnny Idiotface”) and LeBron James, Cleveland’s title drought wouldn’t be ending anytime soon…

Talking wrestling with Jeff Teague

By Lang Whitaker,

Miami Heat v Atlanta Hawks

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — On Friday night, I went to Brooklyn and saw the Atlanta Hawks beat the Nets, 93-88, behind 22 points from Hawks point guard Jeff Teague. After the game, reporters gathered around Teague to ask about the game. I waited, because I wanted to ask him about something completely different.

A week earlier, I’d noticed Teague tweet during Wrestlemania following The Undertaker‘s first-ever Wrestlemania loss…

So once Teague finished talking about the game, I put him in the squared circle for a brief chat about something we both enjoy: wrestling…

Me: Jeff, are you still upset about The Undertaker losing and ending his winning streak last week at Wrestlemania?

Jeff Teague: I am! I am mad about that. I can’t believe they did that, man.

Me: Was that your favorite streak in sports?

JT: Yeah! Definitely! I mean, besides Kyle (Korver) when he had the three point streak. After that, it was the Undertaker.

Me: Were you surprised Brock Lesnar was the one who ended it?

JT: Yeah, they could have picked somebody better than that. The could’ve got CM Punk, anybody. But I think it was a mistake. I don’t think it was supposed to happen like that.

Me: Did you watch Wrestlemania?

JT: Yeah, I watched it.

Me: What was your favorite match?

JT: I actually like Bray Wyatt. That’s my guy right there.

Me: Were you excited to see Daniel Bryan win the titles?

JT: I like him, he’s OK. I’m not a big fan.

Me: Did you prefer Randy Orton having the titles?

JT: I like Orton. I guess I like all the bad guys. I guess you could say that.

Me: Who’s your favorite wrestler?

JT: I like the Wyatts. And I’m a fan of John Cena, kinda. My nephew likes him a lot.

Me: Who was your favorite growing up?

JT: Stone Cold, The Rock.

Me: If you were a wrestler, what kind of wrestler would you be? A high flyer? A technical guy?

JT: I’d be like Bray Wyatt. I like how he gets the crowd going with him, singing his song.

LeBron Surprises Heat With WWE Championship Belts

ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — A few months back, after Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy did a postgame interview with a WWE-style title belt draped over his shoulder, LeBron James hopped on Twitter and asked how he could get his hands on a WWE belt, “the real ones.”

It didn’t even take a day before former Miami-resident Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson responded via social media to make LeBron’s wishes come true…

Now King James has gone one better. Earlier today he posted a photo on Instagram of the entire Heat team wearing title belts. As he wrote in the comment, “Always wanted to be the WWE Heavyweight World Champion so today I surprised my teammates with their own for their collection. And by the way it’s a Great time to be a @WWE fan with the launch of #WWENetwork #LoveMyTeammates #WWEStandOutAsAKid #StriveForGreatness”
